Episcopal Relief and Development Fund
(formerly the Presiding Bishop's Fund for World Relief
)

The Episcopal Relief and Development Fund (ERD Fund) provides emergency assistance in the United States and throughout the world. This fund responds to natural disasters, from floods to hurricanes to droughts, usually working through the local diocese of the Anglican church. Often, the fund provides the "secondary" level of assistance following a disaster, after other response agencies have met the immediate needs and then left. The ERD Fund is thus often involved in the rebuilding process.

The ERD Fund is an extremely effective agency for relief assistance, in large part because of the high percentage of donations that go to direct aid. Virtually all the expenses of the program are paid by the Presiding Bishop's office, allowing 100% of contributions designated for relief for a particular disaster or cause to go directly to those needs, and around 85% of general donations to be used in direct aid.

Needs: Members of the parish are encouraged to make gifts to the ERD Fund a regular part of their giving. Contributions can be sent to the Parish office marked "ERD Fund."
