Welcome to the Web Site of the Church of the Redeemer. We hope you will explore all the facets of our common life and mission. We proclaim God's love, manifested in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and we call upon the Holy Spirit to empower us for ministry.
In the Church there is a magnificent Altar Screen Mosaic of abstract colors and shapes. From a distance, they form a cross made of light. The cross requires some search and intention to see. This is a metaphor for our church and its life. We are a diverse community. We have many ministries which address the call from God to worship, reach out to the community and world, grow spiritually, care for one another, and sacrifice to bring God’s reign near. Redeemer has been here since 1855. We are a resource size Episcopal Church for the City and County of Baltimore. As large as we are, we seek to be radically welcoming, opening our doors and hearts to those who come seeking spirituality. We are accepting and inclusive, affirming people where they are, and offering them support for their journey.
