| Lenten E-Reflections
Lent is fast approaching, and you are invited to contribute a Lenten reflection to help nourish our Redeemer family during our Lenten journey together. Similar to Forward Day by Day (the daily meditations put out by Forward Movement Publications -
http://forwardmovement.org/Today-s-Meditation/), these brief reflections, written by various parishioners, will be emailed daily -- or almost daily depending on the participation level.
Writing suggestions and guidelines:
1.) Reflections should be 200 words or less and submitted in a Word document or in the body of an email. Please do not send reflections in pdf format.
2.) All reflections will be edited and published anonymously. Submit your reflection to: charlesandmelrose@gmail.com.
3.) Writing prompts include a link to the lectionary : http://www.lectionarypage.net/CalndrsIndexes/Calendar2012.html#anchor2479251 or you may want to consider how your faith journey intersects with the Wednesday Evening Lenten series themes by week. (See page 3 of the February Chimes for a schedule of topics.)
4.) If there is a specific date that you would like your reflection published, please let us know that when you submit your reflection. We cannot guarantee that we will publish your reflection on the requested date but we will make every effort to accommodate your request.
5.) Meditations will be emailed to those who "opt-in" by sending an email to charlesandmelrose@gmail.com with "Opt-in" in the subject line. We will also publish reflections on our Web site. (Web address to be shared through e-Redeemer during Lent.)

Soup for the Homeless As the temperature drops and the economy continues to struggle, there are many men, woman, and children who are forced to live on the streets of Baltimore. Loaves and Fishes is a non-profit organization that tries to help by delivering hot soup and sandwiches every Saturday from Nov. to March. We are in need of volunteers to make 7 gallons of soup this Saturday, February 4 and Saturday, March 31. A soup pot, soup recipes, and lots of support provided for any volunteers. Please contact Lynn Plack for more details and questions.

The music for this morning's choral Eucharist is by Louis Vierne and will be sung by the choir. For those congregations fortunate enough to have a choir, many settings of the mass have been written over the past four centuries. Romantic French composer, Louis Vierne, who lived from 1870-1937, was the organist of Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris. It is offered today as another expression of the fullness of our rich liturgical tradition.
